has been in the power industry for over 29 years, having qualified as a
mechanical engineer with a business administration degree. He
joined the CEGB (subsequently PowerGen) in 1980 as a graduate trainee
and remained there until 2001. He started out as shift engineer at
Rugeley power station and progressed to senior engineer in central
resource planning. He then changed course, becoming Head of Wholesale
Trading Development, then Purchasing and Sales Manager, before taking
over the embedded generation and renewable trading business as Trading
Manager where he established the trading desk for the Nordic market.
Finally he became Structured Transactions Manager where, among other
things, he managed E.ON’s market entry into the Scottish and Northern
Irish markets. In 2000 he left PowerGen (then E.ON) and joined Bizz
Group as Director of Trading, later joining the board of BizzEnergy, an
electricity supply business, as Commercial Director. He has a strong
interest in structured transaction in wholesale markets, complex
trading arrangements and Risk Management systems. |  |
